This September, experience Fundy Trail in a whole new way through a collection of guided outdoor adventures designed to showcase the park’s most remarkable landscapes.
From cascading waterfalls and thriving wetlands to rugged coastlines and interactive shoreline discoveries, each experience offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, uncover local stories, and explore the extraordinary beauty of the Bay of Fundy at a relaxed and meaningful pace.

Hearst Lodge Guided HikeA true Fundy classic for those seeking a bit more adventure. Step into the story of one of Fundy Trail's most iconic locations. This guided hike takes you through a forested trail along the Big Salmon River leading to the Hearst Lodge.- Distance: 7 km (round trip).
- Duration: 3-4 hours.
- Difficulty: Moderate to Strenuous.
- Highlights: Scenic river views, historic lodge, forest trails.
- Experience: Bring your lunch and enjoy a relaxing riverside break at the lodge while learning about its fascinating history.
Meeting Point: Parking Lot 8.
McCumber Brook WetlandsThis guided walk explores the diverse wetland ecosystem of McCumber Brook, where you'll discover unique plant communities, learn about local wildlife, and gain a deeper appreciation for the important role wetlands play in the Bay of Fundy environment.- Distance: 4 km (round trip).
- Duration: 2.5 hours.
- Difficulty: Easy.
- Highlights: Wetland ecology, wildlife viewing, interpretive storytelling, scenic boardwalks and observation areas.
Meeting Point: Walton Glen Reception Center, Parking Lot 15.
Melvin BeachThis is not your average beach walk. Timed with the tides, this hike reveals dramatic coastal features and hidden sea caves.- Distance: 5 km.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Difficulty: Easy to Moderate.
- Highlights: Coastal geology, sea caves, tidal crossings.
Meeting Point: Parking Lot 2.
Long Beach Brook FallsA moderate forested trail leading to a beautiful waterfall.- Distance: 2.2 km.
- Duration: 1 hour.
- Difficulty: Moderate (uneven trail surface; steep ascents and descents).
- Highlights: Explore Long Beach Brook Falls, one of four waterfalls in Fundy Trail Provincial Park. Once home to a river-powered lumber mill, you can still spot the turbine in the river today. Please leave any artifacts in place and report them to park staff for inspection. Return through a lush, mossy forest for a peaceful end to your hike.

Tide ExplorersA hands-on, family-friendly experience designed to spark curiosity and discovery. Explore the intertidal zone and uncover the fascinating sea life that thrives along the shoreline.- Duration: 1–1.5 hours.
- Difficulty: Easy (family-friendly).
- Adventure gear advised: Clothing appropriate to weather and can get wet (you will get wet), water shoes or rubber boots and a bucket!
- Highlights: Tide pools, marine life, hands-on learning, shoreline exploration.
- Format: Guided program for families and children.
